Sydney did not believe in life after death, but in her experience, admitting this could lead to long and complicated discussions in which people seemed to think that since she did not believe in God or the afterlife, there was nothing to stop her from becoming an ax murderer.

About This Quote

Sydney is afraid of life after death because she feels that she will probably be tortured for all eternity. She has many other reasons as to why she does not believe in life after death such as the fact that if one does not believe in God then there is no afterlife and therefore no point in living. But the biggest reason of all is because if she admits this to people, they will probably begin to talk about her like a crazy person and make her feel like an ax murderer(killing someone who has killed) and torture her for all eternity.
